Arriel 2S1 engine
The Arriel 2S1 is a twin-spool turboshaft engine developed by Safran Helicopter Engines for light twin helicopters such as the Airbus H135. It features an axial-centrifugal compressor, annular reverse-flow combustion chamber, and high-efficiency turbine driving the main gearbox through a reduction system. A dual-channel FADEC manages fuel flow, start sequence, and power output for reliability and performance. The design prioritizes power-to-weight ratio, fuel efficiency, and durability in demanding EMS, law enforcement, and utility operations, with integrated filtration and an accessory gearbox supporting onboard systems.
